Storage Method for Pears

1. Unripe Pears:

   • Room Temperature: Store unripe pears at room temperature to allow them to ripen. You can place them in a fruit bowl or on the counter, away from direct sunlight. Depending on the variety, it may take a few days to a week for pears to ripen.

   • Paper Bag: To speed up the ripening process, place the pears in a paper bag with a ripe banana or apple. These fruits release ethylene gas, which accelerates ripening.

2. Ripe Pears:

   • Refrigerator: Once pears are ripe, store them in the refrigerator to extend their shelf life. Ripe pears can be stored in the fridge for up to 5 days.

   • Ventilation: Place pears in a perforated plastic bag or a container with ventilation to maintain freshness and prevent moisture buildup.

3. Cut Pears:

   • Airtight Container: Store cut pear pieces in an airtight container.

   • Refrigerator: Keep the container in the refrigerator and consume within a few days. To prevent browning, you can toss the pear slices in a bit of lemon juice.
